  • “Your personal details”. This covers our collection and use of your personal details.
  • “Your use of this website”. This covers your use of this website.

Your personal details

We are committed to the fair collection and use and the security of your personal details. We comply in all respects with data protection legislation and guidance.

This legal policy sets out how we use the personal details we collect from you when you use this website. In using this website, you consent to the collection and use of your personal details for the purposes set out below.

  • to provide you with information about our products and services
  • so that you can obtain a retirement projection, immediate income withdrawal and post retirement illustration

  • so that we can send you details (by post, email, telephone or any other electronic means) of products and services that either we or trusted third parties (including other A J Bell companies) supply which we believe may be of interest to you.

We will only send you marketing information if you are an existing customer or you have consented to receive such information. If you do not wish to receive marketing information, please either write to

Cookies

A ‘cookie’ is a text file which we send to your browser and is stored on your computer. We use cookies as part of normal business practice, so that we can recognize you and arrange content to match your profile quickly. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, so that you can decide whether or not to accept it.

We also use ‘session cookies’, which last only as long as you are online but are not stored on your computer. They enable us to display personalised information on our web pages and contain encrypted or encoded information you have previously provided us. Session cookies are destroyed as soon as you close your browser or turn off your computer. As a security measure, your online session will terminate after a predetermined period of inactivity and all session cookies will be destroyed.

Please note that if you choose not to accept cookies from us, you may experience difficulties in using this website.

Some emails we send you or pages on this website may contain electronic images known as ‘web beacons’, which allow us to track and assess the effectiveness of a particular campaign or tell us whether or not you have downloaded a particular email. We usually collect information anonymously but occasionally we may collect your personal details.

If you do not want to receive web beacons you will need to disable html images or refuse html (select text only) emails via your email software.

Security

We have implemented procedures to protect your personal details and we monitor our performance regularly. If you (or your representative) contact us for details of your account, we will ask some questions so that we can establish your (or your representatives) identity and we will not disclose any details unless we are satisfied that you (or your representative) are who you claim to be.
